Eight true freshmen saw playing time.
The Owls collected 10 hits. Sophomore third baseman Dane Myers went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in the first inning.
Eleven Owl pitchers threw pitches throughout the 14 innings, including a total 13 strikeouts. Senior southpaw Blake Fox earned the start and pitched two scoreless innings. Right-handed pitcher Jon Duplantier returned after two years spent on the sideline, fanning three batters in his only frame.
